Valve cover Gasket exploded?

So i'm sitting at a stoplight and suddenly smell the strong burning oil smell. When I get home it looks like oil from the valve cover has covered the distance from the motor to the wheel well. See below

Is this even possible for it shoot out like this? For reference, motor in the right passenger wheel well on left. Oil shot across to the heat shield then down and dripped on the exhaust. I'm used to slow leaks but never like this.

Answer...

Dug into the issue and it appears the valvetronic motor gasket let loose. See the big puddle under the motor. The gasket looks fine, but something must have happened to it. 52k on the motor.

Where is that part exactly? I can't tell from the angle and the narrow field of view of the photo.

Easy gasket fix? Or an assembly replacement?

I did the whole valve cover, valvetronic gasket and eccentric shaft sensor seal while I was in there. I hope that takes care of it. That is a big job on an E82 given the rats nest of wires in the way.
