Stock water pump?

I'm about 5 yrs on the original pump, but only 40K miles. I had the coolant flushed at 30K so hopefully it makes a difference in longevity.

Only would happen if you continued to drive your vehicle after the pump failed. You'd get warning lights out the ass before any damage was done to the motor.

Historically the temp gauge(not even present on the 128i) is notoriously vague on BMWs and the temp light comes on after the damage starts.

I've since added a temp guage for coolant and oil, but see no reason to not preventatively maintain the water pump. Aside from that, my cost of maintenance outside of Inspec I and II will be negligible.
