How much to get your suspension installed?

I was just quoted $900-1000, + $150 for an alignment.

Seems a little high to me.

My first quote was 8 hours at $92 per, $150 align, then 6 hours additional for corner balancing.

I'm getting my KW V1's installed as we speak for $450 thanks to a referral from another 1Addict!

I have neither the time nor the trust in myself to do the job correctly. Anyone else have some quotes I could use against my dealer? I'll be calling local shops tomorrow but curious what you guys have paid.

Seems like others have quoted 11 hours of shop time for the install.

I hope to get this done sometime. I guess I will be seeing how much my local BMW will charge for the kit. Not sure whether an overnight in Atlanta, and getting it done there (and not having to pay for shipping of the kit from Dan) will be a better course overall. Sounds like its an all day thing.

I had a Tirerack recommended installer in my area install my Koni FSDs (kept the stock springs). It cost $563 plus alignment of $146. The alignment specs were set for commute use and was driver weighted. He worked on the car for about 6 hours.

Btw, my price was for coilover installation, I assumed that's what you meant. Sounds like Bones13 is talking about the BMW Performance suspension which has sway bars, etc also.

Yeah I'm looking to have KW coilovers installed, but after hearing my CF Interior trim is going to cost about $650 to be installed I'm hesitant to do it until later this summer.

Wow...I never realized how nice it is to have hook-ups and the ability to do work yourself. You can do your own coilover swap in 5 hours with basic tools and a couple jacks. Also to remove all trim from the car it's less than an hour. I removed, wrapped, and reinstalled my stock trim in 2 hours.

I know not all people are willing to work on their own cars, but people like you are reasons shops feel they can lie and say a suspension install takes 11 hours.

The only time I have paid for any mods to be installed was having some coils on my previous car removed before trading it in. I paid $200 for a swap back to stock. Took 2 hours. A friend owned the shop and the work was done to spec, no shady cheap work.

I was thinking I should dust off the tools and do the trim my self, just worried that I don't have the right tools to pry off the pieces.

Sounds like the perfect excuse to visit the hardware store then! For the trim, follow a DIY, spend $10 in tools, drink a couple beers and enjoy your Saturday! Take your time and I'm sure you'll do great.
