Get a hpf or cp-e.
You highly recommended the ETS to me.....did you have a change of heart?

I'm anxiously awaiting to receive and install my ETS. $600 was bad enough, I couldn't imagine dropping $1k or more on one. I mean....$400 more for a few extra ponies?

That said, I don't think you can go wrong with the ETS for the money. I'm sorry but I'm coming from the SRT4 tuning world and used to seeing decent intercoolers offered for $300-400 not $1k. Seems BMW tax-ish to me, the material can't cost that much more Hell, the unit on my turbo'd neon cost me $220, is made by precision turbos, and supports 400whp!

Considering power increases.....are there dyno charts available for all of the units mentioned in this thread? Everyone keeps mentioning HPF, what are the gains with it?

what?! seriously? Not to sound rude, but this is misinformation.

^^ Some of the manufacturers provide data demonstrating better performance than the stock intercooler, but I have never seen reliable data comparing aftermarket intercoolers. Anyway, I'm sure they are not all the same, but how they actually compare in performance appears to be anyone's guess.

yes, perf gains on any intercooler are extremely difficult to quantify by standards. And the argument is not that adding an FMIC gives you extra power/perf but enables you to utilized the power/perf you already have but where unable to use due to heat soak. Not to mention the availability of modifications to the engine you can do with having a proper FMIC. You are not gonna feel a difference cruising around 1st-3rd gear out on the street, but when you start pushing your car (on the track) and get into hotter situations, you will feel the pull/power doesnt stop as you go through the higher gears with a FMIC.

blahblahblah...sorry

I have the cp-e unit. The 100 degree days had already started when I got it, so it was easy for me to see the improvement in high rpm power and the improvement in oil temps.

Anyway, after all those posts about how everyone tracking was getting reduced power and limp mode in the July heat, these things should be flying off the shelves.
