I need to go lower on my ST coils..Suggestions?

I recently installed some ST coils on my 135. The problem is that I have them adjusted all the way down on the rear and am still getting some wheel gap. On the front, I still have plenty of space to go down if I need to.

What are some springs I can find to go an additional inch or so lower? Is there any other alternative? I searched but couldn't find anything on the subject. Thanks for your help

Here's a picture of how it currently sits. The rear is all the way down but the front is higher than I would like to compensate for the rear.

If and when you take rear passengers, that gap will reduce significantly, so it's probably ideal how it is...

My ST's only have about 15mm left on the rear to go down, but i get alot of scraping even with 1 rear passenger, so for me i can't risk going any lower.

Hm good point. I'll have to have someone sit in the back and see how it looks. Its just frustrating to not have my desired ride height despite getting the coilovers

Man all these complaints about the ST couls not going low enough in the rear has got me scratching my head. Mine tucks if I drop it all the way in the rear. Had to raise it quite a bit when I first installed. Did you remove the cup the stock spring sat in when you installed the new adjuster?

I had a shop install them. I'll have to stick my head under and look. Man, if this ends up being the solution I'll give you ten thousand Internet high fives

Yeah I just looked underneath. The perch that the stock spring fits in to was not removed. Looks like it was a shop error. Now I have to wait until monday to try and explain its his fault and get it in there in a timely fashion

Yup mine are 18's, apex aero 7's. Yea take it back to the shop and have them remove that cup as kgolf mentioned. Shouldn't take them long and make sure they don't try to charge you for their error. If I'm not mistaken, it mentions that in the install instructions also, which I'm sure they didn't bother looking at.

This is me with my kW v2 all the way down in the rear. From what I understand they're the same adjustability except for dampening. I never rub with 245 or 255.

I can put 1 finger and a half with the minimal drop recommanded by KW/ST. I have to lower a bit now as it has settled.

I will post some pics later

I took it back to the shop and he fixed it without issue in an hour and gave me another alignment for free as well as $100 off my next visit. I'm satisfied, and now my 135 looks like it should. I'll post pics soon

Good to hear man. I'm glad the shop treated you right and owned their mistake.

Rare to find good customer service like this, stick with them going forward. Use that $100 credit for walnut blasting lol.

I think half way down is, rear, the perche at half distance of what KW/ST recommends.

In fact, it's my definition

Then, front, will be the same !

Hope it helps you !

Another question c_ozanich: what's the distance between the middle of the centre caps and your fender ? Same question between tire and fender ?

Thanks

When you guys are talking about the piece that needs to get removed, you are talking about the black metal cup at the top, right? As opposed to the rubber piece that fits into the bottom of the spring?

Yup exactly. It's the metal cup at the top that the stock spring positioned into. That gets removed and the new adjustable perch sits up there.

Yea it's strange, I definitely removed that (with a hammer), but I still have about .5in wheel gap when all the way lowered on STs.
