WOW!! First and most important glad you are doing fine/ok.

The 1er is built like a tank. it can take some hard impacts. (this is why it weights so porky, we cann't have it both ways)

I must be one of the few, that thinks those wheels are sexy, hot, damn great looking.

However, im observing a few no no's.
1st did you remove the strut/fire wall brace OEM bars?(notice how the drivers side strut tower has been "pulled/ripped outwards")

2nd you running summer tires????

Humor: "That will buff right out"

Hope you get back in another 135i soon

Last: Vulchers mode, where is that salvage yard?

Yah, that's why I'm not too upset considering all the damage. I'm just glad I walked away with only a couple of bruises. In the end it's just a car, I'll eventually build another one.

The 1er is def built very sturdy, the cabin didn't shift at all. All the doors and trunk still open fine, plus all the glass is still intact.

The OEM strut bar was removed since they were hitting the top of the coilover adjustment knobs. I was going to order a Mason bar to replace it.

Car was in storage for the winter hence the summer tires still being on there. I stupidly took it out since the roads appeared dry and clear in my area, total round trip was less than 10 miles. Black ice pwned my ass

The salvage yard is Redl's in Lagrange

I'm thinking so, considering the extent of the body damage plus damage to the entire drivetrain. The engine/tranny dropped down hard and was dragging on the ground when they pulled it onto the flatbed.

Cruising home at around 45mph in 4th gear, I hit a patch of black ice and fishtailed hard into a telephone pole on the other side of the road. From what I could see, the pole hit near the driver side headlight and took everything with it.

I'll check if the perf spoiler is intact, it's actually a replica one made by ******. I think there might be a few nicks in it though from when I got rear ended.

I'll try and have them swapped for the stockers sitting in my garage. In either case I also have a pair of the same rims NIB in a 19x10.5 +62.

Just me, not a curb but a big telephone pole. No other cars on the road at the time. Definitely lucked out on this one, there was a cluster of pine trees right next to the telephone pole with about 5ft of spacing between the trees. Had I been 2-3ft to the left or the right of the pole the outcome probably would have been a lot uglier.

Maybe a 997 911, but prob not gonna get another car for a while, saving for a house now.

+1, I was suprised that the cabin was more or less untouched. It really is built like a tank

Hit some black ice and fishtailed into a telephone pole on the other side of the road.

Yah, I was in kind of a daze right after, happened so quick. My hoody still smells of the airbags

I'll try and pull the spoiler off and check for damage. There might be some nicks in it from when I was rearended a few months back. The cup holder comes out too. Thanks!

Man I am so sorry to hear what happened to you and your 1er but in the end I'm glad it was you and not the 1er that came out unscathed. Cars can be replaced, people . . . not so much. I hope everything works out for you though, from the picks I like the color wheel combo of your car. Again the best of luck to you.

Wow, glad you're OK. One of the reasons I bought BMW was because I have seen people walk away from some pretty horrific crashes in their beemers, great safety cage!

Btw... I am glad you are ok.
