It should also say the same for the Terra interior right? It should be two-toned as well.

Savanna Beige Mystery

No dealership in Portland, Oregon can tell me anything about the Savanna Beige color. It is listed in the brochure, but not on the website. I am planning to get brave, and order it anyway in a Crimson Red 135. The color shown in one of the other postings is definitely the Taupe Boston Leather. It is MUCH lighter in real life than in the brochure, as I have seen it in several cars here. In the last four days I have seen two Black Sapphire cars, one with Coral Red and one with Taupe, one Sedona Red with black, and three convertibles, Montego Blue, Cashmere and Titanium, all with Taupe. The Gray Poplar trim is very garish.

Yup, still not much information on Savannah Beige. I ordered it and they made it anyway, it is waiting for a ship now. Listed in order tracking as "beige".

I ordered Savannah Beige and am trying to get confirmation out of my dealer. According to them, it will NOT be two-tone like Terra or Coral. Does anyone have a photo or document. I read in another post that beige should be two-tone.

Here is my current Build:
Monaco Blue 6MT
Savannah Beige
Aluminum trim
Sport Package
Premium Package
Premium Stereo w/iPod and Sirius

Question: If Savannah is NOT two tone, I wonder how the Terra/Black two tone would look?

I have my SA hopping to get written proof of Savannah Beige one way or the other!

The official brochures for the Canadian 135i state that Savannah Beige is two tonned as posted earlier in this thread.

Thanks for the reply Tito!
I suppose I am a bit retentive about trying to get confirmation form my US dealer. Something about spending this kind of $$$ and not being 100% perfect. :-)

I saw the previous post, but I'll update if I get written confirmation from the dealer. Just being cautious!

So I test drove the 135i today and was able to get this handy little printout from the 1 series spec sheet. Hopefully this will put to rest the mystery of the Savanna beige. It is two tonned as we all thought.

I believe in Canada, it's a Priority 1 option.

BMW - if you're reading this, why the hell do you cause so much confusion ?? Is it deliberate??

Why not:

1) Standardise the bloody options across the continents. You'll save money as well. And you'll stop eveyones blood pressure risiing!!

2) Scrap the "one tone" interior look. Everyone hates it, no one wants it it is 20 years out of date.

Thanks

Rant over.

BMW's leather code LWA5 is known as Beige in the rest of the world, but in the US LWA5 is known as Taupe. Go figure why it needs a name change for us 'murcans (who can't even say or spell 'taupe' correctly ; -). I always thought taupe was the color of mouse fur.

Did anyone notice on the previous spec sheet that beige leather comes with beige roof liner ? I wonder what the USA would get.

Yes the LWA5 option in the US comes with a matching headliner. It better or I'm going to be PO'd when my SGM/Taupe 135 shows up with an Alaska Gray headliner. ; -)
