With the engine and everything else off, hold the peak recall button and hit the start button twice (without depressing the pedal so engine remains off) until the gauge lights up and shows CFG. Release the gauge button. Cycle through the menu and change d.On to d.OF.

Although the gauge is disabled, it unfortunately still keeps the "PSI" LED lit on the display. So not exactly fully dormant per say, but precisely rather just locked to prevent access or usage. I personally wish the PSI would disappear for a completely blank screen in this mode.

Thx a lot, B-. Funny enough, on mine only 1 press of the start button activates it, not 2.

Good I switched it off, dealer has to keep car overnight because as part of alarm programming I had to get latest software. As it started loading, clock said: estimated time over 4 hrs!

So will get it back on Monday. Too bad, really wanted to do the 2.0 update tomorrow. Thx for the feedback!

One more question. I have snaked the wiring from the boost gauge all the way to the JB3 unit/ECU (I hid it neatly underneath the rubber seal going from tower-to-tower). Can someone remind me which 2 pins I need to connect in order to have the map-switching functionaility through the boost gauge?

blue is 2(rhymes) brown is 15...

there are only 3 empty pin slots on that plug into the jb3 so its not hard to miss where the 2 pins will go, they are both next to eachother..

hope that helps.

have same thing on my car. works beautifully.

Oh right, 2 is only for comfort access users w/o the key fob inserted.

Would adding a boost gauge seriously be considered a mod that would void warranty???!?

Given the economic conditions we are in and the fairly stagnant car sales, one should assume that IF the manufacturer CAN deny warranty, they WILL.

There was at least 1 member here that stated his Sales Advisor noted in his file/profile that an aftermarket boost gauge was present. Now, is that enough to deny coverage for a future repair? Only time will tell.

The Magnusson-Moss Act though should protect most people: for the dealer to deny coverage, he needs to prove that the aftermarket part was the one that caused a failure in the stock part (and herein lies the big problem with Dinan vs. BMW warranty). But bottom line is, why risk going through all of that, just keep the gauge (or any other mod) unlit and undetectable as much as possible to the dealer.
