Installing M foot rest dead pedal

I got the foot rest with a template, showing 3 holes to drill
Do I take out the stock black plastic and drill holes?
or do I drill holes on to the stock plastic one and cover it on top?

help would be appreciated!

Edit: its 5 holes sorry.
didnt see the full template.

I had the same issue. Basically the stock one is semi-attached to the car. You have to place the cutout on the stock foot rest and drill at each point so that it can be yanked out. Then you have to yank the stock one out. You will see carpet with holes. Then you push the M Dead pedal in.

i can post it tomorrow if you want;
I used my arm force to take it(stock) out, and it seems to have holes already.
Stock ones share same holes as the M foot rest one.
No drilling required
