Bedford Auto Evening tomorrow for only £49!

If anyone is interested, here's a BMW track day for peanuts.

Would be nice to see a few 1M's at the next RAF Marham charity track day...whenever that will be
One of the few locations in the UK where you can stand a chance of getting vmax with the length of the Marham's runway to play with....and cheap too at 60 notes for the day

It was supposed to be in two weeks time and I had an entry, but yet again, it's been cancelled/postponed.

I guess if you're running stock you might be able to - Marham would give you what, 1 1/4 miles to play with with 1/4 mile to stop. Brunters gives you 1 3/4 miles and I'm still accelerating when it's time to hit the brakes there.

Track day however - good idea

It was good, can't complain, at £49. Lots of M cars, but intended for novices. Though I'm not a novice by MSV's description, I could not pass up the opportunity for such a cheap track day. Pics and vid to follow.

I was wondering how they'd assess that

Look forward to seeing the photos and vid. Do you usually get track insurance when you go out on days like this?

I was with HIC for my previous car and was covered for track days in the UK and some of the EU tracks. But their quote for the M3 was ridiculous so I had to go without track day insurance, but will again if I can get a reasonable quote.

It does make sense to have one if you are doing it fairly regularly, but if you are doing it on once in a while, then it's a difficult choice, that said, the accident rate on UK track days is relatively low, but it does happen. 3 of the track days I've been on have had cars totalled. You can get cover for individual track days though. They cost £50-£100 IIRC.

Duh - for some reason I was expecting to see 1M action

I take it th organisers didn't spot / pull you up on the fact that despite being a novice you were moving up throught the pack ;-)

(oooh, just seen 1M at 05:10 ;-) ).

Haha, sorry, no 1M here, M3 1M, all the same, all great M cars. Reason I hang out here is that my chum has a 1M and the rest of the UK M owners I've met have 1Ms. There seems to be a distinct lack of a UK M3 community on bimmerpost.

I think MSV was particularly lenient on the day, I came a little late, missed the briefing and didn't have a noise test and my licence wasn't checked.
