I don't think you were rear-ended too badly. Besides, BMW's are made strong. I'd don't suggest going to the dealership because 1) they will overcharge you 2) they may act as the middle man and just send your car to a body shop. I'd suggest u go to an independant body shop for an estimate.
When someone rear-ended my car, I didn't go to the stealership for those reasons. I went to an independant shop, got a better deal, and the staff did an amazing job.

Yep, but in this case its someone else's insurance company, what do i really care? And i need to take the car in to have the alarm installed, windows tinted and alum pedals reinstalled, so I might as well get it into the same place.

Actually, take the car first to the stealership to have an estimate done. Once the insurance cuts you a check, you then take it to a reputable body shop.

Bad idea to stop with the TLC. You've gotta accept that things are going to happen but you've got to keep steppin.

Sorry to hear about the damage. Such a bummer.

Funny coincidence: I let a co-worker drive my car yesterday since he used to have a BMW. His current car is a Hyundai Santa Fe. He stalled my car taking off from a stoplight and we almost got rear-ended by a big truck! What is it with Hyundai Santa Fe drivers and BMWs!?

Y'know, stereotypes are born of truth. Illegal aliens in this country is a major problem. Personally, I would have to show them how my S&W insurance policy works!

P.S. Go hug a tree somewhere.

How's this for irony... it is my Alpine White E90 that was rear ended last week (I'm sure you've all seen the post). My rental is a Santa Fe. What a POS. You step on the gas and the engine sounds like it's going to fly out of the hood - yet nothing happens.. no power. Oh well, it will make getting back in my E90 soooooooo much nicer!

Ledzep, i saw those pics. How awful! How much is the damage? Mine is only $489, they can reuse the bumper.
