1M Headlight Washer Removal
Is anyone familiar with how to temporarily remove the fixed headlight washers? Do they simply pop out?
The reason I'm asking is because it is tricky getting clearbra around them. |

PDI in Kansas City did my clear bra. He removed the nozzles, applied the film, put film on the nozzles, and then popped them back in. I was not there when he did it, so I cannot speak to the "pinch or pop" method needed for what he said was easy.

My installer just popped them off before he applied the film. According to RealOEM the same nozzles are used across the e82/88 line. No need to remove the bumper cover.

As far as I can tell on the Xpel website, there are cutouts in the template for the towhook and the headlight washer nozzle heads. Dunno if that means they're simply uncovered or what. Probably depends on the installer?

I know you can just pull on the lids to the nozzels and lift them up.. there will be resistance but thats ok.. you could prop them up with a small stick and then have the clear bra material tucked in on the edges..
dont pull them hard / straight out... washer fluid will leak till the res is empty..

I think you're talking about the pop-up style washers. The 1M has fixed washers that are more difficult to work with.

OK good to know. Thanks. I saw the 1M front bumper on RealOEM did not have any washers, so that wasn't much help.

I'll summarize my experience, maybe it will help the next guy.
My installer didn't want to risk scratching the paint by prying on the washer, and instead chose to pop the clips from behind the bumper. It turned out absolutely fantastic, as there are no clearbra lines visible whatsoever around the washer. |
