I don't believe it's emissions, but rather noise restriction. There are a few threads covering this and how there are two exhaust systems on the 1m, Chinese market and non-Chinese. Very unfortunate, but not irreversible.

China spec 1M's have a DIFFERENT EXHAUST then the RoW (rest of the world). THAT is why the inner exhaust pipes don't get dirty... bc they don't flow that much exhaust thru them.

Maybe we can create a China group buy from everyone in the US that has changed exhaust systems and would like to sell? Lets help out our restricted brothers.
