The long drive home from the dealer
Thanks to the payne/rizzo method, I am about to make a deal with a dealer that is about 300 miles away from where i live. So I was wondering if you guys would have any tips for the long drive such as, keeping it under 80 mph and varying my speed. And would you guys know any long term effects for a new car after driving it for about 4 hrs straight. Thanks.

You'll be fine. Just do your best to stay under 4000RPM and try to vary the RPMs as much as you can. And don't wory about the speed. There are people who have done the European delivery thing and done 150 on the autobahn. Speed doesn't really matter, RPMs do.

Pam (cooking spray) works for bug guts but not for rocks. I made the deal on my 1 late saturday and drove back sunday. 180 miles on I-40 from Nashville to Knoxville. Spent most of drive changing between the top 3 gears to change RPMs. Wife led the way in her A3. 4th gear roll ons from 60 mph gave me big smiles. Got some dirty looks from her however.
