I think it's kind of fun when threads wander a bit. It keeps them entertaining. Not that your topic isn't as interesting as all hell. Especially for someone like me. Haha

I hate when people/mods kill all the offtopic fun. German forums I frequent are like that. You just cannot move away from zee topic.

Gotta keep 1Addicts alive, right?

And now since we are talking about strange things people do with/in their cars:

+1 to this!

The 1 time I tried snow tires (FWD; living in CO) I only had $$ for 1 pair. Threw 'em on the front. Big Mistake!

- Mount snow tires
- Top off washer fluid
- Throw snow brush behind driver seat
- Buy enough touchless car wash coupons to get a decent discount
- Drive and enjoy

(originally from the Great White North) Ditch your staggered wheels and get something more thin (skinny snows cut through the snow better). Mount snows on your winter wheels, toss them on when winter weather threatens, go back to factory when global warming sets in. Never ran Blizzaks myself, but I've heard a lot of bad things about them (squirmy). I used to run Dunlop Winter Sport M2s (this was a long time ago) and loved them. Winter wiper blades make an enormous difference. Keep cold weather gear in your trunk (blanket, jacket, gloves, a hat)... although it's funny to think about this in the context of a car you cannot get into the trunk from inside the car, huh. TP and trash bags. Paper towels. A shovel. 4gal drinking water on the floor in your back seat. A phone charger. A few boxes of low-sodium crackers and a good amount of raisins. Heated hunting socks and D-batteries (feet are the first thing to freeze). Something like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012K0O7BK. Never leave the house with anything but a full tank of gas when severe winter weather threatens.

While i'm all for the doomsday prep, and i do keep all the goodies in my car, I've realized that living in DC it's just not necessary. I'm a few feet from a coffee shop like 95% of the time lol
