Just this morning BMWhat has an update

Brake Force Display is now coded on my car. Can't test it until I have a friend watch and a place to do some hard braking.

Also they added battery registration as an in app purchase, which is great because I need a battery soon.

Sorry to bump an old thread but was that update on iOS or Android? I can't see these options on my iPhone.

Android.
So the iOS update came out yesterday with those new features.

Did you test the brake force coding? What does it do?

If you threshold brake once you exceed a certain force the rear brake lights will start to blink

Sounds good. So when I slam the anchors on on the highway, I no longer need to hit the hazard lights while trying to avoid the clown in front.

Cannot seem to code my 135i e88 late 2008 because I can't find e89 on my program. It only has e87,e46,e60,e65,e85,e83,e53,e90

Is it possible to code braking hazards on low speeds as well as high? Cheers

Hey coders,

I bought an obd wifi dongle and BMWhat app back in the summer and had some fun tweaking settings.

Now that's it's cold and snowy here in Nova Scotia, I'm wishing my previous heated seats and heated steering wheel settings would remain on after turning the car off and on.

Anyone know if this setting is possible through car settings or obd coding?

Thanks all

I'm not sure about what settings were changed with the dongle/app but I'm pretty sure if you can find somebody that uses NCS Expert they can look through your seat module for that setting. I was just curious if anyone has ever tried changing the vin number on a CAS module. I changed mine for the ecu because mine "fried" according to the shop and won't give me spark so I have to test a seperate ecu/CAS/key but I'm pretty sure the vin number has to match to the car? Any ideas?

Anyone know if this will work? I have to resurrect all my NCS stuff so I can't just try it any time soon....

Okay, I can now confirm that it is possible to use NCS Expert to enable the blinking alarm light - even you don't have the alarm system!

All you have to do is modify one setting in the KOMBI and SPEG modules. The initial setting will be:

Code:
DWA_VERBAUT
nicht_aktiv
Change this setting in both modules to read:

Code:
DWA_VERBAUT
aktiv
For reference, DWA_VERBAUT = "Diebstahlwarnanlage Verbaut" = "Theft Alarm Installed".

Code those changes, and that's it - the light on the tach will blink when the car is locked using the remote. Opening a door or the hatch will cause the hazard lights to flash, but there's no audible alarm (unless you have the siren installed). There appear to be settings to enable flashing the headlamps as well, but I have not tried those - I figure the blinking light will be a sufficient deterrent to keep anyone from trying to break-in in the first place.

i have a 2008 e88 vert 135i and have been trying to code this to get it to work. I only seem to have the kombi module and cant see SPEG anywhere in ncs expert. any ideas?
