Subwoofers ?

So I have a 2009 135i with the upgraded stereo system, I read somewhere before that we have subwoofers in the bottom of the seats, is that true ?

Is that why I feel like I am sitting so high up even when I try to set the seats to the lowest settings ?

Yes there are subs under there (if you can call them that), if you look under the seats, you should be able to see the grill.
