Simplified Explination of Boost Taper

Red line - Load req.
Blue Line - Boost actual (lower trend)
Yellow line - ignition timing (upward trend)


You are 'Requesting' the power the red line represents. You are not controlling how that is achieved though. This is a fair representation of why you really don't feel the car loose power as boost tapers. It may feel like power flattens out though, and that's because the target has been reached.

It's simplified but I hope it helps explain a little.

Love seeing charts! Charts, and pivot charts even better, are a great method to visualize log data. They're so easy to do, I'm amazed folks use the online tools for anything other than sharing data...

What's really grin inducing is having the requested load steady increasing, and boost curve flat as a sheet of glass, or even increasing... Gotta love the resulting wide flat tq curve

Alas, that ain't even gonna happen on stock snails

Dude trim your data...wtf. You can cut off it looks like the last half of the numbers and avoid the bullshit from when you dumped the throttle.
