Talking 1er in the Snow (pics)

Took the 1er out for some fun in a lot today, WHAT A BLAST. It was refreshing to get some actual snow for once. Sadly it'll probably be gone by tomorrow but I got my fill of sideways and snagged some shots in the process. Also had a friend with me in his WRX. Bonus pics of Apollo at the end because I know that's all you guys want to see anyway

Yeah we were too busy having fun and trying not to get caught to do much filming. Got some on the GoPro though so I'll see how that came out later. The tires are actually Conti DWS 06's. They were OK, got stuck once and had to reverse all the way out down a hill to get back in LOL

Woo-hoo! I've got my better-looking wheels back on, am in the middle of getting the car detailed for Spring/Summer/Fall (eyeing a coating), and the accident damage was repaired, so my car is ready for some cruising and looking pretty . Maybe I can convince Mr. Noise Police to let me try a muffler delete for a day or two...

Apollo's so adorable! I've got a friendly Rottweiler that loves the snow, but has some kind of spidey-sense regarding cameras, so no pics of her in the snow. She's kind of hilarious when we're shoveling, she'll stand right next to the snow pile and catch some snow as you throw it in the pile, and then eat it and immediately sneeze...

What a great floof.

Oh yeah, and the car's cool too, I guess.

Wish I could get some slidways weather around here. Got some nice shots!

Oh and if any random vibrations appear, check for chunks of ice in the wheels

Florida had snow earlier this winter, right?

In our last storm I found a massive parking lot that was completely deserted, with fresh pavement underneath, and a beautiful, smooth blanket of snow to shred. Hilarity ensued, with a large number of spins, maybe some handbrake turns, tried clutch-kicking, even did a really poor burnout (without the burning part), I had tons of fun. I spent like half an hour just driving sideways, now I want to go to a wet skidpad clinic/event this fall since I'll have some finished tires to totally destroy after this track season...

Hopefully I can get a cruise going and we'll be able to snag some good pics this time

That's impressive! The DWS's didn't leave me feeling like a foot of snow would be doable.

Rain works too man! And no ice in the wheels to worry about here, all the snow has already melted!

I'm more curious as to how the snow got built up into a perfectly flat square on the back of that SUV/minivan in the pic on the right!?!

Beautiful color! It tears me between Valencia Orange for the warm colors available on these cars...

Yeah, Sedona Red was the color that BMW used to introduce the E82 to the world back in '08. Really nice, as is VO.

Edit: actually, I think they introduced it in '07 for MY '08.
