We are in Wikopedia. 135is owners, please note the last sentence. Which was, "In total, 586 135is vehicles were built." Which includes coupes and convertibles.

We know that 586 coupes were built and shipped to the USA.

How do we correct Wikopedia to add/correct the number of verts built as well?

Any thoughts?

2013 BMW 135is coupe/cabriolet[edit]
The BMW 135is was a tuned version of 135i's N55 twin-scroll turbo straight six making 320 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, increases of 20 and 17 versus a standard 135i. The 135is also receives an upgraded cooling system with a more-powerful radiator fan and an auxiliary radiator, plus a M Sport Body. The performance of the 135is is close to that of the limited-production 2011 BMW 1 Series M.[34][35]

The BMW 135is (E82) coupe/cabriolet was sold only in Canada and the United States, as the European market received the next-generation 1 Series, the 2013 BMW M135i (F20) 3-door and 5-door hatchback. Despite the differences in chassis, both the 135is and M135i share the same engine, however for their optional automated transmissions the 135is has a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox while the M135i has an 8-speed automatic.[34][35][36][37]

In total, 586 135is vehicles were built.[38][39]

Looks like you can create a Wikipedia account and do edits on your own. Or do edits without an account and your ip address is used as a reference for the edit.

PPK Badge Group-Buy Update

Back in January, I ordered 5 sets of PPK badges & 6-language stickers for members who were interested (see my previous thread below).

I've had some requests for another group-buy, so I just wanted to gauge your interest. If anyone else would like a PPK badge and the set of 6 white stickers, send me a PM. I only need to order about 3 - 5 to make the shipping costs worth it. So let me know!

Best Pricing for PPK Badges

I've had some recent requests for group-pricing on the PPK badges. I've contacted the usual companies and none of them have the badges in stock. They are on 1-2 month back-order and ship straight from Germany. The best price I've found recently is at bmwpartsupply.com (see link below). They are asking $27.43 for the badge, but you'll notice that their cheapest shipping option is $15.

I contacted them about the shipping price. They told me that there is a section of the check-out process (step #3, Vehicle Information) where you can write a comment. This box is called "Order Details / Comments" and you can request your badge to be shipped in an envelope for just a few dollars, as opposed to their standard $15 flat rate.

Anyway, if you need the PPK badge, I would get it from them. But remember it may take a few months to get your order because it's coming from Germany.

Newbie needs 135i advice

Hi Guys,

I am new to this site and am contemplating buying a 135i from a dealer.

It is on an 09 plate in white and just wanted some expert info from you guys on differences in models.

From the pics it is badged on the bootlid as 135i M. I see the M badge is on steering wheel & gearstick. It has black wheels to contemplate the white body with nice looking tinted windows.
I notice from pics that I don't see the thin lip on the boot lid as I have on other cars & also no shark fin type aerial is on the rear of roof.
It has half leather & not full leather with over 85000 miles on clock and dealer wants £14500 for it.
Does this seem a bit high compared to others with lower mileage?

Thanks very much for any advice

I would avoid any 135i with the n54 motor with more than 82K on it unless there is documentation the turbos have been replaced. they are prone to get a nasty wastegate rattle. also i would look for documentation that all recalls have been done and that a walnut blast has been done at least once. look to see if injectors and HPFP have been replaced. those are the main issues on the 135i n54 platform.

Edit: i see your in the UK maybe? not sure how the warranty stuff is over there

That one above 51142160474 (looks to be E82 and others in EU

vs. part# 51142296495 for F20 and others including US specs

Some VIN decoders call the earlier model year 135i cars a "135is." Don't know why. My first 135i, which was a 2008, is listed as a 135is in a VIN decoder, when actually it is a standard 135i with the sport package. My 2011 135i with the M sport package is not called a 135is in the same VIN decoder. Again, not sure why. As we all know, the 135is is a 2013 US only version of the 135i.

I am looking at two 135is's and trying to decide whether or not to buy one or keep waiting for the M2 lol. I still love the look of the 1 series. Does anyone run a JB1 or JB4 with theirs and if so how do you like it?

I've got a JB4 and a VRSF charge pipe on mine and it is fantastic! Map 5 works great.

Is the list on page 16 still relevant, or have there been updates since?

Was hoping someone could help me identify what model my 2013 1 series is. The back has a 135is badge and the is badge is also affixed to the dash on passenger side.

Based on that i assumed it was a 135is but after doing some reading (here and other places) it appears that there are a couple of things that do not match. For instance my car has the 261 style wheels and is not listed in the VINs on page 16.

My car is the vin's is the one between these two below (and matches the description of #106):

106 | VM13571 | 9/14/2012 | Alpine White | Blk Sensatec | M6
105 | VM13569 | 9/14/2012 | Alpine White | Blk/Blue | M6

Did a prior owner decided to just add the batches? Is there anything else i can look for that would be a dead giveaway?

Not a 135is. It is a normal 135i and was built with the style 261's on there. So it's a fugazi.

Does your car have the extra cooling parts that are included in the PPK2 kit? I believe it came on the 135is.

See the post by @Dakalone in this thread:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1052906

And this one
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=856535

I believe the 135is should have the PPK2 installed from the factory.

“PPK2 cars would have some mechanical tale-tells. Like: extra radiator in the drivers wheel fender, radiator fan relays moved, horns relocated.”

So do you have the extra radiator behind the drivers side front wheel?

Do the seats have blue stitching? Another exclusive feature for the 135is

You guys needn't go through all that analysis. Checking the decoder for VIN # ending in VM13570 shows that it's not an 135is.

That is what i assumed as well, based on the vin lookups.

The radiator is there, so i *believe* it does have the PPK2 installed. The stickers are not there but I think someone in this thread earlier said that was hit or miss. Hopefully one of y'all can tell from the images below. If that is the case would/should it show up in the vin lookup?

Edit: Can't get the images to show for me. Here are the links.
