(N55) Cobb vs. PROcede

Dont know much about Procede, but their numbers look much better than Cobb...added features are better as well...

Anyone have input on any known issues with PROcede on the N55?

I know Cobb is still developing their AccessPort for the 2012 ECU

I have the Cobb and on 91 octane (the swill that CA calls premium) and sport map it's not very impressive. 93 octane and aggressive map was fun though. Still seems like there should be more to me though. Hopefully as Cobb get more familiar with the N55 they will release bigger, badder maps.

Cobb stg1 is pretty modest IMO, I wasn't really blown away until I went to the +FMIC mapping. For OTS maps those are pretty punchy. It'll take some time, but there's no reason Cobb wouldn't eventually get N55 guys the +FMIC maps for Stg1 and 2. PROcede is obviously a proven solution as well, and has been out for the N55 longer.

Once the ATR software comes out for the N55 then it will be worth the money cause the adjustments you can make with the ATR is well worth it and thats were you will really see the results. The OTS maps are just safe maps for all of our cars but every single car is different in its own perspective so thats when the ATR comes into play and makes the maps that much better.

I'm curious, does either company offer "free upgrades"? That is, once you buy their software, are you basically always able to get the incremental improvements? Or would you be faced with contemplating repurchasing it a few years down the road as they (if they) get more and more power?

Depends if its a hardware or software update. JB4 offers free updates to their maps and tunes for life. If hardware updates, they usually offer discounted (pretty well tbh) hardware upgrades.

Most companies will offer updates to the software and new maps for free, Cobb definitely does. They also will offer you a significantly discounted cost if they upgrade to a new hardware unit (tho i highly doubt they will since the new AccessPort is already so well made.) if they need to add more features or new tech arises.

They both offer free updates. I would get a procede over cobb or jb4, it's just a little expensive when you can get almost the same thing for less. Cobb's biggest advantage is the ease of use, but that's not a big deal for me. It's biggest disadvantages are limited functionality compared to the popular piggybacks (no meth, gauge hijacking, other features). It's your own choice to make

I've heard that Cobb has much better customer service and response times for issues, as opposed to PROcede...also, PROcede has more issues in general compared to Cobb...

I got an email from one of the guys at Cobb today saying that they had a 2012 N55 135i in the shop now, and were working on the AccessPort for the 12'...no ETA though...my guess is 2-3 months away from releasing it in BETA

The new DMEs from BMW are much more advanced than previous versions so adding support is taking a bit of time. Keep in mind it was almost 2 years after N54 cars were available before a full OTS offering was released.

We learn more and more every day, the N55 cars are showing very impressive results with +FMIC testing. I have a great deal of confidence in our engineers and promise you'll all be happy with the results!

Cobb notoriously has great customer service. It's surprisingly easy to get an intelligent tech on the phone if/when you have any issues.

For Mazda they do, maybe others. Well... they probably repackage someone else's so "offers for sale" might be more accurate.
