OK spoke to the service guy at BMW and he said they removed the steering lock some time ago due to issues with the electrnic lock so not to worry.
As I mentioned before I decided to add springs (Eibach) at the same time I installed the camber plates. Unfortunately the drop in the front is much more than expected. Working with them to resolve the issue. On a good note I am very happy with the feel of the camber plates. After taking apart the front and seeing what BMW uses for an upper bearing it was like night and day. Steering feels much better. After resolve the drop issue I will post more. |

OK for those interested or not here is the final update. Eibach sent me springs (same part number as what comes in the kit only with a -02 on the end of the part number instead of -01) which is 10mm taller. I also received some parts from Ground Control (basically thicker rubber between the spring and camber plate) which when installed gave just the right amout of ride height.
Note: When Ground Control first developed their camber plates they were even with the stock units, but BMW changed the mounts after a couple of months adding about a 1/4". (I will try to post pics) which added to the much lower than expected stance. After all the installation I have a much nicer ride, cornering is better, ride height is nice and the car performs better. As far as noise (described as feedback from the different plates) there is a little more harshness as compared to stock. It is better than the car I drove in with Vorshlag plates, but there is some noise. Overall I am happy with the set up. Feel free to ask questions. |

Yes the GC plates lowered the car by a 1/4", but that did not explain the extra drop from the Eibach springs. I really need to post more pictures and I will after I have lunch (stomach is calling me).

Alright you can see the difference between the original and what I actually have in the last post. It is almost 1/4" between spring position (height). This and the fact that Eibach springs lowered the car more than the 1.2" as stated on the website caused the car to be lowered almost 2" which I had not calculated for. As it sits now it is perfect. Prior to the slightly higher springs and the parts from Ground Control I could not get my finger between the tire and the fender. Both companies provided great customer service as well as support. Outside of having to do the job twice I am very happy with the end result.

Looks great.
My car sits slightly higher in front. I got some 5mm spacers for the front that will allow me to go lower. For some reason the Apex wheels and tires foul against the springs and adjuster collars, and to go lower I need to space the front wheels out just a tad to go lower. |

Is the compressing and droop travel correct? I can't see where the upper spring hat sits on the strut in that photo either. |

I have the current offset from APEX 45 in the front and 62 in the rear. Tires are 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear. I haven't had any rubbing yet.
