BMWUSA "No 1 Series at US Shows till '08"
Ok, So I got excited about these Auto shows coming up in the next couple months.. I remember someone saying that the LA show is like Nov 15-30 or somewhere in there & I know the Orlando show is the like the 15-19 or right around there. So I decided to write BMWUSA & ask if I'd be able to get a peak at my future car while I'm there. This is their response.
"Thank you for your patience as I researched your inquiry. Unfortunately, the 1 Series is not currently scheduled to be at the auto show in Orlando, Florida. It is likely to be featured at auto shows in America starting in 2008. I am sorry if this is disappointing to you." Pick it apart as you like. 'currently' 'orlando' 'likely' :iono: |

I think BMW really wants to get the 1er to LA but that show is starting abnormally early this year and probably isnt feasible. I hope they make it to LA, though, as its the only time I'll get to see it before the showroom.

It makes more sense to wait until the '08 shows if the 1er is being intro'd as an '09

Curious why it wouldn't be feasible if they already brought it to Frankfurt?

US spec cars vs. EU spec cars. There is no point in bringing a car to the US that wont represent the exact spec that potential buyers can actually get.

That is actually a very commonplace thing to do. I can remember many times seeing preproduction models with either EU-style license plate holders or other misc items that were not for the US market.

Emmett,
That Cosmos with Modena leather is a pretty rare combo. Nice!

I believe that BMW uses EU-style license plate holders on their US-spec cars for auto shows. Regardless, things like sport packages, interior trim, standard features, etc. absolutely have to be sorted out before they send cars over here.
