Gear lever knob from an e46 M3 should fit fine right?

When I was picking up my car, they had an m3 cab on the showroom floor, and I liked the black leather shift knob (with correct 6sp pattern). That should fit the e90 just fine since e46 knobs fit, right? There's no difference between the e46 regular and e46 M knobs are there?

How much are they going for from the BMW parts Dept. and could you post a pic. im in the market for a reasonably priced shift knob. the AC schnizter one is dope looking but, alass, it is $250

Sadly, I'm not adventerous enough to figure out where to tap into to make it work either.
