Another one with VMR701 in "storm grey"

Lousy photos with point and shoot camera.
The wheels are from EAS, in "storm grey". They are actually a bit darker than how they appear in the photos.
specs: F: 19x8.5 ET45 R: 19x9.5 ET45; tyres: Kumho KU31 225/35/19 and 255/30/19
Impression: even with 40psi of pressure, the tyres ride much better than stock RFT's, quietr too. Can't comment on grip yet as I haven't driven hard on them yet.

Do they rub? Of course they do. The front is fine, but the rear tyres do rub, and I am not sure if it is the fender or the liner. Will get the rear fender rolled and hopefully that will be enough. The tyres also have rather square side walls. I think I would have been fine if I had gone for 245 tyres, but I don't want them to look too stretched. As it is, the front tyres are a bit stretched, but not too bad, the rear I don't think are stretched at all, certainly no more than stock wheels and tyres. The rears are a little more poke for my liking, if only they are 5mm further in they would have looked better, IMO.

i hate you, thats the exact set up i wanna run. storm grey looks perfect w/ BSM like i though it would

car looks amazing, any plans on lowering it? and have you rolled your rear fenders?

one more question, how does storm grey match to the oem brakes, they look very close

Not planning to lower it until I sort out the rubbing issue. Will get the fender rolled. I will check the wheels tomorrow and see how close the colour is to the brake caliper. I was going to get matt balck but thought may be that's too black for BSM, and thought that gunmetal is too light.

i agree, think you made the right choice as far as color. i think rolling the rear fenders w/ take aways the rubbing you are getting

thanks for looking at the color diff btwn the caliper and the wheel, if you can take a close up pic, would be highly appreciated

you will rub no matter what. lowered or not. i did a fender roll on all 4 corners. 90% of rub eliminated even with 4 people. will do another roll soon. think about negative chamber instead

That's bad news. Your tires are about half an inch taller than mine I think (255/35 vs 255/30) but the Falken have a rounder sidewall. I don't have any problem at the front. Where do you rub, the fender lip, or the plastic liner?

Nice looking rims but running that rear offset will always rub, you could be running 275 rear tires with the right offset rear wheels

Got the same tires.. rolled and lowered no rub.. but I think my next tire choice will be with something with a less squared side wall..

The front is indeed to stretched so I am thinking bout 235 if I get a more rounded tired on the walls.

Similar problem to what I am having. My thoughts are that they should have been plug-and-play once the vendors knew what size tires we wanted to run with zero rub.

^^^You are running 19"? Just rolled or rolled AND shaved? There is a big difference.

I think we're stuck with these offsets because they carried over a lot of components for the suspension from the 3 Series, and used higher offsets to make it fit the bodywork.

It sucks that our wheel choices are so limited by this.

yes def sux we are stuck w/ weak sauce offsets, i miss the days of being able to run a 20x11 -5

Some fender rolling and a very slight camber adjustment will help the rubbing issues you are having.

Basic break down...

• I have Falkens which are better for clearance issues, but I also have 235 up front and H&R Sport drop. I rolled all 4 of my corners. I rub.
  
• You have Kumhos which are not known for helping with clearance issues, but have 225 up front with stock suspension. You have yet to go fender/chamber mods. You rub.

This is how I sum it up.... they look great though. They were rubbing all over the fender, the plastic tab, the fender itself, etc... That's why I say rolling and neg chamber might help if not fix everything.

I will do the fender rolling as soon as I can, and add negative camber if needed.
I was warned about getting et45 for the rear, but decided to still get the vmr 701 as opposed to the 710 with et 50 as I would much prefer the look of the 701. I think the 710 would have been fine with 255 tyre. I didn't get the falken or the toyo as I wanted 255/30/19 to be close to the stock diameter, and neither falken nor toyo comes in that size.

It is rubbing on the fender liner, I have the 19" vmr csl's in the et40 and et45 with 225/35/19 and 245/35/19. I think your tire is just too big for what you want to run. If you could step down to a 245 you would be fine.

even with 225 upfront he will rub. the fronts are more of a problem than the back. very little people realize this. you will only experience rear rub when there are 3 or more in the car.

never had an issue in the front with my VMR CSL's with 225's and not with my 18x8.5 +40. i ran pirelli p zero nero and currently have bridgestone RE01'rs with KWv2 suspension pretty low.

now my rears with 255, i've haad teh fender rolled, cut and etc... and still roll upon full/near full compression
