Buying a 125i in Perth..
Hi Guys, new to the forum and BMW..
I have just got SWMBO approval to buy a 125i Coupe. I am in Perth so I suppose I need to get down to Auto Classic. I have a BF XR6 Turbo to trade, maybe a private sale whilst waiting may be the go? I see SimonB was in a similar situation, why did you choose to sell privately? Poor trade in offered by AC? What personal finance offers are Auto Classic likely to offer? Who is recommended to deal with at AC? Any email addresses?? What options are "must have" on the 125i? Thanks |

Hi cashie, welcome to the forum and congrat's on the permission attained!
I didn't sell privately, I sold to a Ford dealer - mainly because AC welched on the deal I made with the SA I had initially and dropped the trade-in price offered by $$$'s in the 4 months it took for delivery. Anyway, I went around to about 4 or 5 Ford dealers and got a far better offer. Couldn't be bothered, frankly, selling privately. Both of the SA's I've dealt with at AC have now left. So, can't help you there. Maybe some of the other Perthies can assist. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, Cashie!
I traded my 130i back to AC. Didn't get much for it but then I expected that. I've been through the hassle and BS of tyre-kickers when trying to sell privately and this time I wasn't interested in the hass. I guess the dealers know that and use it to their advantage. The SA I had has also left so can't help there. As for finance I have used BMW Finance in the past. The approval was virtually instant and no hassle - which suited me fine at the time. My honest advice and I don't mean to get any 125i coupe owners offside but if you can stretch it go for the 135i. It is a ball-tearer especially if you chip it. One thing I have learned in life is to try and avoid saying "Gee, I wish I had..." As for options....well, I'm a gadget and button freak so I went feral. Don't skimp on the Prof HiFi with Logic 7 or the Pro Sat Nav - especially with the new version coming out! The tingle in your nurries a 135i with WOT gives you is second to none! BTW - what's SWMBO?

SWMBO = She Who Must Be Obeyed. I'm not married and it scares me that I know that ...

My wife lives at Country Road and I live at AutoClassic. She supports CR every week, I support AC every few years...so where's the problem!? If cashie wants some advice I'll be glad to slide a few tips his way...it's all about marketing and diplomacy.

Welcome to the club!
I'm probably going to throw my MX-5 at Jason Mazda as I just realised I'm going to have to get it registered in WA if I want to sell it here As AMK says - dealer rates suck, but so do prospective buyers who like checking a 2 year old car for rust.
