BMW Oz 'Welcome Pack'

Am I the only one to get one of these recently (well, okay, today)?

Haven't had time for a good look, but it looks expensive - must be why I paid so much...

I'll take some pics if anyone's interested, if not, fine by me!

Okay, it just takes one (pun intended). Here are the pics, now this isn't as nice as the US "Year One of the 1", but it was a nice surprise, all the same.

The cardboard box it came in:

The 'package' inside, it's made of thick white glossy book like material, with 2 magnets to keep the flap down when closed:

Opened, the card at the top is a credit card sized card that's stuck down:

The inside of one of the booklets:

The index of the LHS book:

The RHS one doesn't have an index, but it covers "The BMW Roundel", "Independance", "Leipzig Plant", "Kidney Grill", "The Hoffmeister Kink", "Inline-6 Cylinder Engine", "50:50 Weight Distribution", "Rear-Wheel Drive", "BMW Efficient Dynamics", "Hydrogen Cars", "Internal Model Designations", "Motorsport", "BMW M" and "Art Cars".

The lower portion contains a letter signed by the Managing Director of BMW Australia and the Dealer Principle of Auto Classic, congratulating me on my purchase of a BMW 135i Coupe and welcoming me to the 'World of BMW'. It also contains a personal profile form and a reply-paid envelope.

Cheers,

Simon....

Is that the welcome pack??!!

I got one of those a while back...had a quick read, blah blah, pulled off the Roadside Assistance card and binned the rest.

You get like that after you've had a few BMW's

amk2912, hahaha... Yeah, well, you get that I guess. Better than I got with my last (and first) new car, so I'm a little impressed. I'm sure someone would have liked to have taken it off your hands though.

Are you sure the two gentlemen didn't personally sign the letter to me and hand deliver it into my letterbox?

Having only bought second hand or demo BMW's before I was interested to see what they do. A better quality of marketing material but marketing material none the less.

Sure as hell beats the crap out of what Audi delivered with the A4 when we bought it

Yeah, I got those too and they're still lying on the bedroom floor somewhere where they belong. Clever marketing from the two companies involved - wonder how much they paid AC to include them?

I did get two other items thrown (compressor and iPod cable) in, but only 'cos I kicked up a mini-stink when they intimated they wouldn't honour the agreement that the salesman-who's-now-left made with me before signing.

Like amk2912, i got one of those a while ago, took out my roadside assist card and chucked the rest. Nice touch but it's a similar case to my delivery day..."yeah yeah yeah, just give me the keys already"

I sorta feel a bit unique getting the performance pedals, the ipod cable, the 1:18 model 135 and a whole lot of m-apparel.

or maybe he just made that much money off me because I didn't bargain hard enough!

Bottle of champagne, $100 BMW voucher - & $50 voucher for a shirt shop? Also a metal BBMW keyring that I took off as it's just going to rattle & mark the dash.

I got the same, got a bmw jacket with my $200 voucher, bit of a waste though, never even worn it. I hindsight I should have went Alu. pedals, which were also $200.
