How old do you have to be to get a loaner car?
Just as the title states I would like to know how old you have to be to get a loaner car from the dealership. I am 21 years old with my 135i and I believe its going to have to go in to get the fuel pump replaced soon. I'm just wondering if they will give me one or not?

That really depends on the dealer. Most dealers will allow a 21 yo to get a loaner, but some do not give it out unless you are 25+.
Basically, you need to check with your dealer. |

I'm 22 but they let me have a loaner a couple of months ago when I was still 21. They gave me a 335i to drive for the day...I was very happy!

I was denied a BMW loaner, being under 23, but they paid for a enterprise loaner. They told me it had something to do with the insurance. Thankfully, my 1er won't even be broken in by my 23rd bday so the next time i'm in for service and need a loaner, they can't use that excuse.

I only owe a few grand on this car so I just love it when people try to say is that mommy or daddys car and I'm like nope I bought it on my own. But yea thanks for the input guys when its time to take my car in I'm def going to try and see if they give me a loaner...

I'm at 20,600 miles its going to be the first time I'm taking it in. idk how many times the old owner had it in the shop, but it has a jb3, active autowerke fmic, riss racing cat back exhaust, bms dual cone intake, KW V2 coilovers. I'm going to be taking out the jb3 and put the factory intake back on and hope they don't give me too much crap about it.

Ha I am just messing around... If you got the cash to buy this car while still in college thats awesome (and I am jealous!)
They should give you a loaner... I think you just need to throw a credit card out to them for collateral...

I had to deal with this today... so I normally service my car at the dealership by where my parents live but I'm away at school right now and a couple of warning lights came on the dash so I took my car into the local dealership. I asked if a loaner could would be available for the day and although the service manager obviously didn't want to lend me the loaner he reluctantly agreed. While he was copying my license he realized that I was 22 years old and informed me that it was against company policy to give loaners to people under 25. I politely informed him that I received a loaner before and his reply was, "Well, not at this dealership!" I told him that I had indeed brought in my E30 to this dealership this past summer (I was only 21) and received a loaner at that time. He finally agreed to lend me the loaner car but informed me that I will NEVER be allowed another loaner until I turn 25 and was very rude about the whole ordeal. Sorry for the rant but I expected better service than this.
