My HPFP went out Saturday afternoon. Had the car flatbedded to the dealer early Saturday evening. Spoke to the dealer today and was told that they were in the process of replacing the HPFP and it should be ready by 4 or 5 this afternoon. I'm very pleased with the quick turnaround.

At least you guys got yours fixed... Mine is going out... bmw just told me my pumps are just barely within operating specs, but said its likely to go out real soon. But being that its within specs, they are unable to do anything for me.
So its the inevitable failure just waiting. |

It sounds really hit and miss... mine is probably a Jan build b/c I got it in March of 2008... 14K miles on it with no issues.

My Feb 09 Build 135i had the HPFP fail @12,230 miles.
Replaced with pump 881 after three days of diagnostics and one day of labor. For two weeks before her failure, she would have hard starts: 2-5s of turning over before engine ignition. All appears good... except! Now at @71mph ~2200 rpm, she has an occasional st-st-stutter under light load. |
