The Germans DO limit wildlife to the autobahns. Wire fences and even two perimter fences before you can get close to the autobahn are not uncommon. The Germans and Belgiums even have these new green bridges... But you only see these green bridges on new-er built sections of the autobahn. We have them in my area and I have seen them down in the Stuttgart area too. Also up North in the Hanover area. While a fox is hard to prevent from getting onto the autobahn - bc they are jumpers. Wild boars and deer are more dangerous. Only in the A81 going to Stuttgart (south of the A6) have I seen deer warning signs on the autobahn. But I am sure other sections of the autobahn must have problems with deer too. Dackel |

I might have to take you up on that offer, and I really appreciate it. I'll find out more once the car gets moved to the BMW service center if they are going to replace that grill piece or not. The car should be moved tomorrow or tuesday, once the insurance adjuster takes a look at it. |

Sylon - how does it work with your add on iCarbon front lip. Since it was damaged in the accident and it did not come from BMW that way... will the insurance company pay for damage mods in an accident? Just curious. I guess you can argue IF they pay for the perf grill they shoul pay for the CF lip - since they were "mounted" on the car. Dackel |

When I was in Germany one of my friends had his stereo stolen out of his car, he had USAA and they covered it no problem. They said had he gotten coverage from a German insurance company they would have required that the stereo to include serial numbers be on his policy otherwise it wouldn't have been covered. |

^^Thanks, but... fyi USAA does not insure cars over here in Germany. When you go thru USAA they have AIG underwrite their policies. AIG underwrites alot of the (American) companies over here.
But still a straight up German insurance company can be kind of stricht when it comes time for them to pay up/out! Seems like I keep hearing how they like to weasel out of a payout claim. |

Im not sure but I'll find out today or tomorrow when the insurance rep comes down from Frankfurt. Quote:
I'm hoping that, being the driver's side is still attached, that BMW will see that there should be another one in there and replace it. It being technically a BMW part to begin with, here's to hoping. Quote:
I spoke with USAA on friday night and they said they have a Frankfurt office. Whether or not that AIG place is what they were talking about, I dont know. But my car is insured thru them and it seems like they insure a lot of cars over here. My proof of insurance paperwork has USAA on it, not AIG. |

I stopped by the repair shop today asking for an update, and the guy told me "Yeah, it'll be done later today.", I was like "Are you serious!?!?!" I was so happy, a few hours later I got the phone call that my car was done. So glad that its finished before I left. Now I can ship it myself instead of having someone else do it for me.

Wow. Ohio is a huge difference. Where is home? I've driven through Ohio many times and the only thing I can ever remember is that they have the cleanest and best food selection at their rest areas than anywhere else on I-90.
Glad the car is done in time for you to ship it! |

Man...sorry to hear about your 135 but glad you are ok
Yeah..that sucks but then again, you got a new front bumper, minimal damage compared to hitting something larger and screwing up the frame/engine/suspension.
Just glad you and your friend are OK and will live to drive another mile. Take care in O-hi-o Rick |

Im not sure if I posted in here or not, the damage estimates were just south of $7,000. So that fox didnt just bounce off the car, that little bastard with thru most of the front, lol.
But thanks guys, home is just outside of Detroit, Im originally from Michigan, so living in Ohio will be interesting, lol. |

Now on to the girl talk...I grew up in the Boston area and the moved to the Minneapolis area for college. I have to say, I have never seen so many blondes in my life. I went from seeing curly haired italian brunettes to blondes everywhere I went. It was a huge change for me as I never saw that many blondes before. That being said, I ended up with a Minnesota girl. |
