28.xx software benefits?

So my car was in for service recently and I asked to look at the printout. I looked up the code that the dealer scanned from my key, and searching e90post I found my software is version 28.xx. (I don't rememeber what the decimal places were.

I know everyone makes a fuss about 29.xx, but what benefits do I have from having the older software? I tried searching but didn't find the info I needed.

The benefits of having 28.xx is less lag and probably less chance of detecting tuner codes.
