Perhaps start here: http://www.autox4u.com/ more specifically... http://www.autox4u.com/clubs/nnjr-scca/ Keep in mind, few winter events are going on. Some, but not a lot. |

You don't need any modifications to start driving autocross.
Show up with your car, and drive. Most SCCA chapters have School Days where you are basically one on one with an instructor. Search around your area for these. |

You don't need any mods. Your car just has to go through a basic safety tech. Make sure your tires are good. I typically use my motorcycle helmet but they usually have them on site to borrow. Most chapters that I have seen will have a novice day every so often. Usually on a Saturday before the Sunday event. They typically set this layout up with the basic maneuvers and offer one on one time with an instructor or experienced driver. Sign up for an event and see if they have a Facebook page. Ask if someone will instruct you at the event. Usually someone in your run group so you can stage far apart and hop in their car when they run and vice versa. |

I usually build the course for NNJR and Philly Region. But I also help instruct, let me know what event you are going to and I can help you out.

I am not a big fan of Nassau because of the bumps.
If my Friend Jeff Hurst is there, I will tell him to help you out. Enjoy.

That is the beauty of autocross -- you don't know what you will encounter until you get there and have to access the course in a few short course walks before you get down to business.
