We will have to see, I know Dale made passes before 1700 so Justin's car might be first Aussie car into the elevens or it might be Michael. Either way a massive night for us, first MT and first AT into 11s in Australia!

There really is no comparison for MT vs AT in drag racing. It's a whole different ball game.

For what it's worth I would never drive an automatic transmission car. For me it takes all the fun out of it.

Yea that was Phil in his ute.

In other news, my other mate ran his F6 Typhoon (890rwhp) and ran an 11.21 @ 128mph with a 2.15 60 ft!!

Easy 10 second car with drag radials, was running half bald stock street tyres

Also in drag racing terminology, fastest is the highest trap speed, and quickest is the best ET. So Michael has the quickest pass (I think Justin's car did 11.9), but Justin's car is well and truly the fastest (123MPH).

I would still buy the manual myself... as I enjoy the connection via the shifter, but there is no arguing that Autos are consistently faster for most uses of the car and easier and more consistent in doing so.
Without a doubt Justin's car is a weapon, will be some great times to come from him!

Auto with well optimised tune and meth is just a good launch away from an 11. It is only a matter of time before you do it... maybe a little more optimisation of the meth system and tune settings, but you will need a 1.7-1.8ish 60 foot. Justin's car just made more and more power the more meth we put in. We only went as far as max output with 2 CM10 nozzles, but it loved it. I think that was 70/20 mixture.

Ask any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile.

You're 'old skool' Kenny. There's nothing wrong with that. Nothing can beat the satisfaction of rowing your own gears because of how challenging it is.

Nice! I'd love to ride shotgun in that car.. Is there a lot of turbo lag? I bet the pull is amazing.

A decent amount of lag, but as soon as it spools it is insane! He was running a street tune with 500rwkw (670rwhp) last night, so cant wait to see it with drag radials and the full 890hp!

I thought our cars but you back in your seat at full throttle, in this thing it feels like the seat is going to be ripped out out the brackets

I thought the trap was a bit low considering it makes 890whp, so it only made 670whp on the night. That's still insanely quick. I'm keen to go next time he runs his car! What a beast.. I can imagine the gforce when the turbo spools!

The car is not making 890 rwhp or 670 rwhp with a trap of 128 MPH I can assure you that.

501kW ATW is almost double what mine makes (and it is not double the weight) and I do 125MPH. Justin's car did 123MPH with 320kW ATW in a 1550kg car. 128MPH is not very fast for that power. Subarus with 350kW ATW at 1450kg do well over 130MPH. Me thinks dyno reads a little high. I would say it is about 400-430kW ATW. Still, it should do a 10 with some DRs.

Also, my tyres were near bald when I did 1.58 60 foot. Baldness of tyres has little to do with drag strip grip... unless you do the passes in the rain!!

When I was at the drags last week a guy with a full weight R32 ran a 10.9 at 132 with 400kW ATW. I doubt they are much lighter than a falcon.

Those are some pretty big numbers you guys are throwing around. You have driven and owned some quick cars! I think the SS Ute weighs close to 2 tonne though, that's why the traps aren't comparable to our pocket rockets. Just kidding, I wish our 135i's weighed no more than 1300kg!

Dyno sheets aren't worth shit. The big black dyno never lies!

Who knows, he was still spinning all the way through 1st, 2nd & 3rd.

All I know is its running a GTX4508r and has made 890hp @ 31psi. Has been told he should be running 9 second passes if he installs an auto box.

PS: Just got his times off (http://www.1320go.com/willowbank/getDates.php - Car 786) and he wasn't very accurate with telling me what the times were.

Quickest run was a 11.211 @ 134.20, fastest run was a 11.224 @ 136.17mph.

His first run of the night was the 11.665 @ 128mph run

I'd say so. The best ET is 12.1 with street rubber and I think it's 11.8-11.9 with DR's. I'll wait for Adrian/Justin to confirm though.
