interior cleaners.

hello!

i need to buy some good interior cleaners to maintain my interior. was going to by the OEM BMW cleaners as i'd heard they help maintain the 'new car smell' and keep things fresh. What do you guys think of these?

Also what about for the leather seats? anything in particular you all like?

Einzett cockpit premium and leather masters for leather. I've tried more products than I can possibly name, and those two are the best I've used.

I use chemical guys leather cleaner and conditioner, they are two separate products. I like how good it cleans my steering wheel and shift knob, also works well on my alcantara shift boot.

+1 for the Einzett Cockpit Premium. Gregthegr8 turned me on to that stuff a while back. It works well on my Sensatec and it smells pretty good, too.

303 works fine on our leather since its Coated and not raw leather.

While this is true, it's important to remember that 303 isn't a cleaner, per se, as much as a protectant (especially when it comes to UV). If you need to work out any kind of grime, you'll need a proper leather cleaner for the semi-aniline seats we have.

Also, be sure to wipe off any excess from the 303 if you plan on going this route, as it doesn't tend to evaporate and may leave an unattractive film that can transfer to clothing.

Agreed. A woolite mix makes for a great leather cleaner.

thank you for your input so far everyone!

i don't think i want the 303 stuff....because (A) i don't like shiny things and i've read it leaves a 'glaze' on top and (B) as CheshireCat suggested...it's a protectant more than a cleaner right?

It's a protectant. The finish is matte bordering on satin- not gloss. If you want the surface to look "naked", it's definitely not the product for you. However, it's nothing like armor-all or anything like that. IMO, it's a great balance between the surface looking detailed and clean yet not over the top.

303 will aid in wiping away dirt, but simply because it's water-based and nothing more. It does not have any active detergents.

Honestly, I strongly recommend it, even if you just use it for the UV protection properties on areas like the dash.

that Einzett shit is fucking terrible!! Smells like a puddle of puke somewhere in Queens. I almost vomited myself on the drive home after cleaning with it.....

will go straight into the garbage! thanks for nothing, Owen! (it's OK, you can blame Greg for this horribleness!)

Hey, can't blame me over here and want my BMW interior cleaner over there. =P

The real culprit to blame is mb135is, who turned us all onto the cockpit premium, just to spite us, then seemingly sold his car leaving us high and dry and smelling like pine sol.

I'm with you, don't like the smell, but it does work well I think. Pretty sure mb135is sold his car a couple months ago to a family member and was getting an old e46.

Yeah... smells are one of those things. For example, perfumes that smell like Glade Plug-ins or Deep Woods Off, or body sprays that smell like baby wipes... some of that stuff makes me want to puke. My sense of smell is definitely screwed up... I like smells like creosote and jet exhaust. I can 'smell' how the Cockpit Premium would be a love-it-or-hate-it type of aroma.

I guess he stunk up his interior to the point of not being able to stand it anymore!
