330i's always launched very well. I could out launch my buddies 335i with over 420 HP in my 06' 330i. It's easier to get traction from a dig in a 330i then any N54 (135, 335, 535). But, there is no match in the mid to top range.

Sorry about the size of the graphic.
Thought this might be interesting to those looking - I got it from DMS in Brisbane. I asked whether DMS would "warrant" that their "tune" is invisible, and cover anything that BMW wouldn't because of voided warranty due to the tune. Apparently, DMS has "an insurance policy to cover that". But haven't had it happen "in 15 years of doing these in the UK". I'd love to have a look at the policy to make sure it was water tight in terms of protection, and that it was valid in Australia. If that is the case, while not cheap, it may be worth considering. Another perspective - if DMS can get 270Kw and 500nM for $A2400, it'll be interesting to see how the BMW Performance Upgrade compares for price. |

Interesting how power dies off after 4850 rpm after the mod. Huge mid range though!
210KW at the wheels with a Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer, up from 183KW. Gain of 27KW at the wheels. That seems to indicate a power increase at the crank of ~35KW not 70? I wonder what dyno others used that gave them readings of nearly 200KW at the wheel stock?

Not sure whether it matters, and at the risk of being picky, if I understood correctly, they aren't saying they'll get 70Kw more. They're saying they'll get it to 270Kw from 225Kw - so 45Kw more
By comparison, the BMW Performance power kit offers increases of 15 kW and 50 Nm - it'll be interesting to see the price comparison, and therefore BMW's view of what having a "clear" warranty position is worth. Last edited by bfi2906; 05-08-2009 at 01:22 AM.. |

I believe the "old" SSTT advertises ~ 30KW (40hp) & 70Nm (50ft.lbs) gains, at the crank not the wheels I presume... Whatever. Nice car Orlin with awesome midrange!
