VAC stage3 ported heads

We all know ported heads will increase hp and torque, if i install the ported heads do i need a special map for it or just drive it on map2 without a tune, or drive it in map5 and auto tune it

How many rwhp do u think i'll gain?

Just out of curiosity how much power do you plan on making that would require you to start massaging the motor like that? People are making pretty monster power on upgraded turbos and haven’t really touched the head or crank…I’d imagine there are better ways to make power.

It'll be useless on the stock turbo's. The stock turbo's will only flow so much air before it's out of breath. I can only see this mod being useful to those who have a single turbo upgrade and have maxed the amount of air the heads can handle .

Also with any mod it is always better to get a custom tune if you want the most HP and TQ out of it.

ported heads are not only for passing higher volume of air, but the quality of the flow is also worked in.

Porting the head will give you a smoother better quality flow, but carbon build up will kill that withing 2000 miles. With tunes like Cobb with access to the Vanos values you can adjust the cam timing and duration that will give you more than enough head flow than the stock turbo can handle.

Someone's actually running a functioning HPF manifold? I thought that thing was vaporware.

More than vaporware, though I didn't know anyone was running one. Probably some beta tester type thing.
