The plan for showing the actual size is to get video of my chubby 5'6" self walking around it and then another vid or 2 of me in the front and back. My friend is going with me and I'm trying to convince him to test out the size of the interior as he's taller than I am. He's just not sure he wants his face ALL OVER the internet :iono:

I'll be back later
Good Stuff!!! Thanks for responding and Have a good time!..

What a generous offer! On behalf of the entire forum: thanks!

Some specifics I'd like to see (some of which have already been mentioned)...

* underbody, especially the exhaust plumbing
* engine compartment
* brakes, especially close-ups of the calipers and a side shot of the disc (I realize this may be hard)
* sunroof -- how far does it open? what does it look like if you look up while you're sitting in the car?

Thanks for doing this!

good questions, 1ster!

Also - did they put the "BMW" on those front brakes? Most pics don't have it, but wasn;t there a few that did?!?

I know, I know - its stupid, but hey, there is a long, cold winter to get through!!!

I think the exhaust is the one thing I really forgot to take pics of. Hopefully you'll have better lighting than I did! I'm really interested in seeing pics of the 128. I think the other stuff is going to be hard to take too many bigger/better pictures since when you're inside you'd need a REALLY wide angle lens. I'd definitely be interested in whether the rotors are vented or not... I also wonder where they will put the USB/iPod adapter.

I doubt the lighting will be much better TRW but I'm hoping that the fact that I'll have so much more time (2 days) I'll be able to figure something out

Keep the ideas coming

+1 on photos of the 128i. This is the car I can afford and am interested in, so I'm really looking forward to some good photos and info about it. Thanks!

If you can sit in it I will definitely be testing it out with my 6'6" plenty of legs body. I have been in a 1-hatch with no problems so I imagine the coupe will be the same. Less than a week for me and the 1 in Frankfurt!!!!

I'll be there the 15th btw

Should be a great show. I have a good feeling a lot of questions will finally get answers. I really hope they have exterior/interior variations other than what we've seen already.

Drillslinger, you're 1 lucky sob. Have a good time. I'll keep a close eye out for your posts this week.

I would seriously doubt BMW would not put 4 wheel vented rotors on a 300HP twin turbo car, esp. with a car that has huge 6 piston front calipers and dual piston rears. :iono:

Otherwise, great ideas guys. Everything I wanted to see has already been spoken for.

Definitely stick the camera under the car from several angles and snap a bunch of shots. Hopefully a few will come out decent.

No one has mentioned the most important item: cupholders.

Sneak in a Big Gulp and see if it fits!

Ok folks, I'm making final preparations for today and here's the "list" I'm going with:

128/135 things to look for:

Basic Interior design (MMI vs non-MMI if available)

Interior size (Space avail. for passenger, iPod/USB location, cup holder location/size, etc.)

Colors (How do real-worl colors compare to brochure. What is "Sedona Red" really?)

Basic (Subjective) Impressions (Build quality, quality of parts/materials, wheels & brakes, rear spoiler "lip" on 135i, etc.)

Brakes (Shots of the ducts, discs & calipers)

Overall size impressions with a point of reference.

Tires... double check the size/brand/type (RF?)

Sunroof (View from inside and outside, open & close)

Next you'll hear from me should have some good stuff

Another vote for rear seat spacing, maybe a pic with a person in front and back who are 6' or under.

Or even a shot of someone in the back seat from the back seat to see leg room and head room, if that makes sense.

Hmm... as many have stated before, if it is priced to close to a 3-Series it will not sell too well against it.

No spare. All current BMWs other than M cars have RFTs.
