How was registering with PCA? Are you required to take your car to a shop?

PCA is very lenient. As long as your car runs fine with decent safety equipment (enough pad life, working seat belts, and working brake lights) you're fine. Just have tech it over yourself prior to a PCA event. IMO PCA is 2nd best to next to NASA to run with.

I won't be driving down till Friday afternoon/evening. Even then Dan, Dublin is now where near the route we'd take to get to the track unless wanted an 8 hour drive vs a 3.5 haha.

Holy awesome crap!! I just noticed that this is a 3 day event!!! Need to change my hotel reservations. Awesome amount of track time for the price...3 days for 399....1.5 each day...$1.47 per minute of track time isn't too shabby

Yeah, PCA has the best pricing for DE from what I've seen. I guess that's why their events usually sell out so far in advance.
