M Power App
So, I can't seem to find any updates on this. But back in June there was talk of a new M app being released. Any update in that?
And another random question, how does one check for updates on our Nav system software? Are they posted on BMW's website to download and install?

The App has yet to be released, but we'll all be notified via front page of bimmerpost.
Types of updates: - Sat Nav maps require updates via dealership, or downloading from an internet source and then obtaining an activation code, neither methods are completely free. - iDrive software update is free, just go to settings and update - download of the update is done via the vehicle's wireless data connection. - BMW ConnectedDrive update is also free and is done by going to Connected Drive menu, selecting Service Status and then Update Services - download of the update is also done via the vehicle's wireless data connection. There are also plenty of new BMW Online Apps available, like Hotmail, GMail, Wiki etc. All available via BMW Online within the ConnectedDrive menu. Last edited by mlhj83; 07-17-2013 at 07:33 PM.. |

Thanks, mlhj83! Really appreciate the info!
I figured there would be a big announcement. I thought it was supposed to be released last month but I guess they're still working out some stuff. |

This is the app we are all waiting for: Link Hopefully it'll be available outside US. It uses the vehicle's sensors, which are far more accurate. |

Connect the Smartphone/iPhone to the USB port and in the iDrive screen appears 'external device' or something like that. Go to your BMW Aps in your Phone et voilá...at least with mine. Cheers Robin |

It was a stand alone option so not all 1Ms with nav/idrive necessarily have it.

BMW Apps is retrofittable according to realoem (there's a retrofit pack for it) as long as you specced Pro Nav with your 1M and have Telephone USB Audio Interface (Music Interface for Smartphone), not just USB Audio Interface.

I have apps, but no iPhone . . . . my work is still stuck in the dark ages of blackberry. I may have to borrow my wife's iPhone for track days, LOL.

Now I guess I don't have that option because my iphone just act like a flashdrive when plug it into the USB port, I can only play music in it.... disappointing..
