Shadow Line Trim option included Front Grills?
Hi All,
Just a question: Did the "High gloss shadow line" option also include the front grills? I am looking to buy a prospective 2012 135i and the car has the shadow line trim as an option, but the grills are chrome. PS - Car has the M Sport Package here in Canada. Thanks for your help! Cheers!

I think with the exception of that one version with the white slats, that all the kidneys are chrome. THe matte black ones are aftermarket, but if you have shadowline the matte black kidneys looks sinister.

Shadowline trim, and my grills are black in the middle with a chrome surround. Perfect IMHO. I don't like the look of the all black ones. Last edited by MightyMouseTech; 05-25-2015 at 10:25 AM.. |

That's what the BMW Performance Gloss Black Grills are for.
Personally, I think the chrome lipped-black slatted grill is the best looking one. However, I feel the gloss black ones are more "sporty." |

In general in the U.S. the 128s came with chrome around the edge and black slats, and 135s came with chrome all around. There is a BMW all black grille sold separately as well as aftermarket grilles of all colors.

2011 135i, M Sport, shadowline trim including gloss kidney grills.
Didn't know they were considered Performance parts as stated by some of the replies here. Didn't buy the car new. Although I think they give the car a much more sporty feel over the chrome. |

What I did was mix gloss black surrounds with chrome slats. Bought the all black grills and separated the slats from the surrounds on both my new and existing kidney grills to make them up. I think having the chrome slats still present looks good on a shadowline car.
