why 2008?

just a theory with admittedly no evidence to support it; is it possible that the soon to arrive 1ers have been designated 08s because there are significant changes forthcoming for the 09s? i just can't come up with any other explanation for bmw not choosing to designate the new arrivals as 09s, which if i'm not mistaken it was permissible by law to do, and i believe would have made these new arrivals more attractive by virtue of reducing their expected depreciation. :iono:

Probably has more to do with keeping models years compatible with the Euro and Brit releases - but I hope you are right, would love to see a DSG on the '09...

I beleive it's to keep the number of 1's that come with the "Year One of the One" starter button ring and plaque to a small number. I would expect only small changes for next year.

Fogedaboudit. 2009 will be a 100% carry-over - just like the 2004 Z4 was a 100% carry-over from the year 1 2003 Z4
That said, I expect they may introduce a new colour or 2..
