Philadelphia Auto Show

Anyone know if the 1 will be there? And is anyone going? I go every year

Yeah, I'll be there too, snapping pics, if the 1 comes to the '08 Philly show.

I sent them an email weeks back to see if it would be, but no response. As one of the biggest US auto shows, Philly should have the 1 this year (and the fact that the 1 was at the San Fran, San Diego, Boston, and San Jose shows bodes well for Philly.)

The official site www.phillyautoshow.com has recently added other vehicles to the pre-production and concept cars lists (found under "featured vehicles"), so hopefully the 1 will join the list soon unless the show runners count it as a production vehicle now and assume it's a given to be there.

...linked from the auto show's website's latest news section which says "the 2008 Dodge Challenger will simultaneously make its world debut in Philadelphia and Chicago on February 6th and remain on display at the Philadelphia Auto Show through February 10th."

There's a fair amount of interest in the new Challenger on this site, and at any rate a dual world debut of that model at Philly's show this year is pretty cool.

I'd wager they simply move the cars at the DC show to the Philly one. If that's the case, you'll get the 135i in black, and the M3 in white.

I wondered about that, but then read somewhere that it usually depends on the actual dealer supplying each show - is that not right, or does it pertain just to production cars from the dealers' showrooms and exclude pre-production models?

I'm definitely coming down, too, so if there's going to be a meet-up, my vote goes to Sat, Feb 9. Sunday the 10th is kid's day, and no offense to anyone with kids, but a convention center full of children's not my idea of a good time :wink:

(No problem, though, should the 10th work better for everyone else...)

I think you're right.. the dealers don't have these cars yet, so they cannot supply them. Seeing one show ends, then two days later the other starts, and the shows are so close, it's a pretty safe bet that they will be the same cars.

my buddy use to work for BMW setting up shows and cars that are preproduction are usually toured around by region.
