They must've skuttled all the cargo that was supposed to disembark in the Carolinas. I hear tarpon like to nibble on gray poplar, so all's good.

It is strange, the Wind was supposed to dock right next to the Emden tomorrow in Charleston. and the emden has been missing in action for three days now. like I don't already have an ulcer.

Well, at least we are all secured snuggly inside our ships, not sitting on a dock somewhere exposed to who knows what.

interesting that when i plug my VIN into the WW cargo tracker it says my destination port is Brunswick, GA; however the port column in the excel-like status tracker at the bottom of the page still says Charleston, SC. perhaps the destination was changed mid-voyage.

My CA initially reported to me an arrival in Charleston, which was actually what started this thread. The ship's "schedules" section of their website reported the same thing initially. I don't know exactly when it changed, though. I wish I did. |

The ports just changed for this vessel. Two days ago was the first time I noticed it (and I checked it every few days). So, for some reason the Mearsk Wind was diverted from SC while it was en route.

The company says the employees who work in sales and administration can either relocate or get severance packages. The company is the largest client for the Port of Charleston and will have just 75 employees in the area when the center closes in August. Maersk is making the changes to cut costs. Last month the company announced it was cutting 3,000 jobs worldwide. |

Congrats Joelk. I know you can't get the car until 3/22, but it's great to know that it arrived safely. I just hope Liberty arrives today.

Since the day the Wind left Bremerhaven it was scheduled for Brunswick. Furthermore BMW's coming south have been unloaded at the RoRo facility in Brunswick for many years. My 2k1 330ci came through Brunswick.
So why is this still an issue. |
