has ANYONE done LED daytime strip lights?
I've been on ebay and theres a few people selling LED lighting strips, like the ones below.
ebay example The description on most ebay auctions says something like.. "The installation is SUPER EASY. Each LED strip light comes with wires, simply connect the positive and negative to any 12V power source such as parking lights, corner lights, fog lights or headlight low beams, etc. Then use its self-adhesive 3M tape on the back to attach on any smooth surface and that's it. " Just wanna know 1. has anyone done it 2. does this sound doable? like is there any power sources to that you could hook into if you placed it on the front bumper? THANKS! |

I'm working on installing foglamps. The same system would be used for LED strips. If you want to do it it's possible. But we can't find the wiring harness to plug into the oem foglight system.

I'm sorry but these things just look way too Getho!! Whats wrong with the cool OE angle eyes? The two M3's above just look too Rice'd for my tastes.
....besides the photo of the two VWs(above) those guys even installed them in the wrong place! The VW freaks over in Germany put them INSIDE the trim piece on the bumper(flush)OR on the top of the brake duct opening(NOT the bottom!!). I think these lights look only good on a VAG(VW/Audi) product. |

I wired them up to stay on Bright all the time, Night or Day and Headlamps ON or OFF. There are (3) wires on the harness: Brown (Ground), Grey (Positive Bright), and Black (Positive Dim). I ran my GREY wire into the DME Box and hooked it up to a SWITCHED 12V and the BROWN wire to ground, did nothing with the Black Wire. |
