So, am I the only one that would question why people would want a bruttish automatic? Sure its fast, but a 5 speed auto? Personally, I'd have more fun in a slower manual than a faster automatic.

I have owned 3 crossfires one of which i still own and one of which was an SRT6. I even lemon law'd a base coupe with the manual. I know these cars very well and can tell you that the SRT6 is one beast of a car. 0-60 i got were in the 4.6 range (Stock) and the car in a straight line when shifting from 1 to 2 was explosive, great top end as well. The handling was great too that thing can hold a corner for dear life though the suspension was brutal on bad roads. One negative thing was that you just had to get used to that horrible Mercedes steering it felt like you were turning a school bus but the rest of the car excelled. The tranny was bulletproof, a 5spd auto. also borrowed from Mercedes but it matched the engine pretty well. Their prices now are dirt cheap but people now are realizing the power of these SRT6's and fetching them all up, and many didn't even know the SRT6's existed, they thought it was just a regular XFire with nicer wheels and a fixed wing. And yes the only SRT6s in existence are '05's and only a handful were made as deemed to expensive back then at $48K for a "Chrysler". You can get them now for cheap but make sure the cars were not SRT6 "Event Cars" that Chrysler brought customers in to bash on track all day as part of their SRT EXPERIENCE days. Other than that its a no brainer for a second car to tune. One thing though the car loves to eat its rear tires and they can be pricey 255/19 Pilots and a few failures of the supercharger clutch not engaging were noted on early cars. Theres a great forum i belong to Crossfireforum.org. everything you want to know about crossfires you'll find there.

My mate has an SRT6 and it is seriously fast. On the fly I can really feel its full potential. We will be doing a comparison of the 2 cars stock v stock shortly after my break in period is over.

I will keep you posted.

yes they are i miss mine, mine was a lease but im now looking for one with low miles to keep for possible collector item i think these cars will certainly start gaining value and the respect they need as they are extremely rare only '05's.

I had my SRT-6 for about year. I enjoyed the hell out of it! It was a lot fun, but 135i is just a better car all around. The X-fire is a great weekend car. I had a tough time driving long distances and rough roads.

Okay...

I met up with my mate with the SRT6 and we finally put the 2 cars head to head. We raced several times to confirm the results. Both are cars are very new and we're still waiting for our engines to loosen up.

From a standstill the 135i beats the SRT6 comfortably. I put the 135i in DS and put my foot down and it just flew. The SRT6 struggled big time with wheelspin with the autostik and even in D and it was never really in the race to win. We are predicting that if he practices launching he may be able to close the gap but it looks like it will still lose to no matter what speed because the 135i makes an easy 3 car lenghts from the get go without fully pushing it.

We also raced on the fly from 60km/hr. The 135i always seemed to respond alot better and both cars were locked dead even 60-100km/hr when the SRT6 was using the Autostik. It was very cool. It seems like the 135i had the edge from 60-80km/hr but it was evident that the SRT6 would reel itself very quickly from 80km/hr. By 100km/hr it looked like the SRT6 had the advantage because it caught up so easily from 80km/hr. As we continued over 100km/hr the SRT6 took the lead every single time. By 120km/hr it would have at least a car length lead. This was a really close race. We also noted that because the difference was so minimal whoever put their foot down first at 60km/hr would always win. If we managed to achieve the perfect race the 2 cars were dead even 60-100km/hr and the SRT6 had the upperhand from 100km/hr and it looked to keep on extending although we tapped out after 120km/hr.

We also did the same race on the fly from 60km/hr with the SRT6 using regular auto D. In this case the 135i would win by 1 car length so it was clear the Autostik responded alot better.

I hope this helps anyone who wanted to know which of the 2 cars were faster in the straight line.

My mate has practiced launching the SRT6 in the Autostik and we now have a much closer race. There's only 1.5 - 2 car lengths in it from a dig. The 135i gets off the line alot more easily and maintains the lead through to the high end speed. Now it looks like I need to start practing my launching too!!

Anyways, here are some photos of the 135i and the SRT6 that I took on my phone. Enjoy.

With the srt6 rev launching it beats the 1er by one car, with both rev launching its a dead heat to 120ks but i suspect the xfire will take it after that if roll races are anything to go by the 135 keeps up from 60ks to 120 then the srt6 gets a couple cars on 135i. This comparison is stock 135i vs SRT6 with intake.

it is a much tighter race now. if the srt6 rev launches and the 135i doesn't, 135i loses out by 1 car. when both cars rev launch it looks very close with the edge givin to the 135i because it has a stronger 1st gear. looks like only half a car in it to 120 on a consistent basis.

srt6: aftermarket intake, otherwise stock
135i: completely stock steptronic
