135i Rear View Mirror

Is there any way to adjust or move this mirror at all? It feels stiff, almost solid and I don't want to break anything else on my car.

I tried looking at the owners manual, but nothing.

the interior mirror? the articulated area on the back is basically held together by a plastic tension ring that sits on a ball-socket thing. If you think its broken, its really easy to actually remove it by splitting the plastic housing that covers the armature and spinning the whole mirror assembly 90º ccw

Yes, the interior mirror. Is there some trick to adjusting it, does it adjust on it's own? Just feels like it can't be adjusted like typical rear view mirror's. I don't want to put to much force on it trying to adjust it. So, I figured I'd come here and ask about it.

Just like any other interior mirror. Haven't encountered any yet that are anything but manually controlled.

use two hands while in Park, it's pretty hard to move - which is good
Or just Use Force - it won't break

Yea, got it to move.. Now on to the three buttons on the bottom leftside of the mirror. I read somewhere these can be programmed to garage door opener's?

Have yet to look in the manual for this, was hoping someone knows exactly what im talking about, and points me in the right direction.

If you go to Homelink.com you should be able to find instructions.

You need to learn code to mirror first, then link to garage door opener.

It's described in the owners manual under Interior Accessories , Integrated Universal Remote Control.

Yea, I read the owners manual for it, and it says to hold the outer buttons 1 and 3 until the led starts flashing. Then hold an actual door opener within like 1cm of the mirror and hold a button on the mirror, while still holding the outer buttons to program a button. I'm trying to program it to button 1, left most button.

Keep in mind that some rolling code openers are difficult/impossible to link up with early universal remotes in our cars. Just try it and hope you get lucky.

Try doing this, but instead of pressing a paired remote door opener, press the learn button on the actual garage door opener. That's how I got it to work. I switched back to a regular remote opener after though because I didn't like how you had to hold the mirror button for a few seconds for it to send the signal, instead of just pressing the remote once

I’ve programmed the first 2 buttons with no issues following the manual. 1 for my complex gate door and 1 for my actual garage door. 👍
