Year One of the 1
Hello all,
Forgive me if this question has been asked and answered, but if so I haven't yet found the thread. Yesterday I picked up my new 2009 135i convertible and was surprised to see "Year One of the 1" engraved around the start button. I had thought that in the US the model was introduced in 2008 (at least for the coupe). Huh? Thanks |

I just ckecked the whole showroom ;-)
They came out in March last year, so maybe they will carry this badge for 12 month of production, regfardless of the MJ? No real answer though....

Look on the inside of the drivers door panel. there is a label with the production date and month i.e. 03/08. If your car was built in 08, regardless of model year, it is considered "Year 1". This is my understanding...

"Year One Of The 1"
Thanks, Monaco35Dream. My build date is 12/08. Your conclusion seems logical to me.

I had an 11/08 build date for an 09 model and got all the Year of the 1 goodies. I think they were doing this for the first calendar year production run of 1-series.

I'm picking my 1er up in a few days, so I'll check. Build was completed on Feb 14th 2009.
Edit 03/31: Just took delivery - and no "Year 1 of the 1". Last edited by Arizona_Steve; 03-31-2009 at 01:22 PM.. Reason: Updated following vehicle delivery. |

My build date was 09/08 - so I'm guessing that Monaco35Dream was correct - any vehicle built in '08, regardless of model year, is "Year 1...".
Now I've gotta press my dealer for the "goodies". Wasn't that a book of some kind? Thanks |

well didnt a batch one 1 series get damaged in transit due to the ship listing too much, maybe that backed up the production and some 09's get the year one thing.
