Moving the seat forward??
I just had a baby and i really want to drive my car, but the capsual only fits in if i squeeze it in and it scrapes the crap out of the interior in the way in. If the seat just went forward another cm or 2 then it would be fine...
I was just wondering if there is something that i could do to get the seat to go forward more??

Probably not much you can do except to have the backrest more upright.
Congrats on the baby BTW.

Sarah, just don't have a person sitting in front of the baby and leave the front seat folded forward. Also it's probably easier to put the maxi-cosi in with the roof down.

The seat fits in the car fine, its lifting the capsual in and out that is a problem. If only there was a way i could move the seat just 2cm more forward.
yeah Way its really easy with the roof down, thats how i did it the other day

i have to wait until my son gets older enough to go forward facing as our reversable seat won't fit in backward mode. Once he does i'll have both the 1 and 3 year olds in the back seat!

Some photos of the problem might help. I assume you're already using the "forward" button on the top of the seat to shift the seat all the way forward.
Interestingly, five years ago we had no problem at all fitting a baby capsule into the back of our MINI. Had to put it behind the passenger seat and compromise a little on front knee-room, but it easily fit through between the flipped seat and B-pillar. The seats on the 1er are a lot chunkier.

I don't have a 1er yet but I imagine the seats recline pretty far....
1. Scoot pass seat all the way forward and angle/lower seat as far forward and low as can go. 2. Recline seat all way back. 3. Insert baby seat and put behind driver seat. 4. Decline passenger seat all way forward. 5. Hook baby seat in as normal behind pass seat... |

Reason being their neck muscles aren't strong enough to prevent serious injury in a head-on collision when the head snaps forward. |
