Spark Plug replacement
So I've hit about 19k miles and I'm gonna change my spark plugs for maintenance (OBV not covered under BMW Maintenance Smh...). Anyways, Since I'm tuned it's recommended I do so.
Just a question I know the BMW Performance Package uses colder Spark Plugs, is there really a difference between standard 1er spark plugs and the PPK plugs? Does anyone have a part # for the PPK plugs? Thanks In Advance.

I was under the impression the PPK does NOT use colder plugs. It comes with new plugs, but just normal plugs...
Now i did hear about people running colder plugs from the mini cooper s. |

Looks like the same plug is used. RealOEM does not list the PPK, but it should be the same as the Z4 35is. You could always just ask a dealer to make sure 100%.

The x35i plugs are a twelve point socket plug! 14mm socket you will need. Its not the normal 16 or 21mm type! GL |

You can try here for the plugs, probably one of the cheapest places around : http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...2@Spark%20Plug
I suggest picking up the ECS plug socket, it's only 15 bucks : http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E82-135...ols/ES1306821/

Same issues
I have 16k on mine and same issues. Does yours vibrate when in 4th through 6th gears when you stomp wot under 3k rpms? Try it and let me know please. I haven't gotten codes but was told it was plugs when my car does this and has the rough idle. I have logged a million times and it is not hpfp. Please try that for those who are misfiring and let me know. I want to make sure that is problem before firmed money and time on plugs.
JUST be driving along at a steady 1800 to 2000 rpm in 4th gear (my car is manual so be sure it doesn't downshift if auto) and floor it. LET the rpms rise and listen closely (make sure to have air conditioner and radio off completely so you can hear) while they rise up between 2 and 3000 see if you feel vibration and hear the car shake and have low pitched bog that wasn't there before. |

Same here. I just talked to two different people who said plugs fixed problem. Gonna try that. Although I will say that once I quit playing around with the global settings in jb3, the car feels much better after adapting a few days. I kept changing settings thinking that was the problem and made things much worse. Once I left the car alone to adapt, it has gotten better. I just upped to the 7/4 firmware but not long after that is when I started having these problems. We had to turn my throttle gain down because the car would actually intermittently close the throttle valve when I had the pedal on the floor. THE car jerked like hell. It seems to happen much less with changes made to throttle gain. I know plugs will fix it now but I don't know which I will use...may go with ngk

Damn, they're expensive plugs! And I keep hearing about the "Corvette tax". I get 8 plugs for my C6 for less than half the price of the 6 for the 135's.

Plugs
I admit they are expensive but they can be found for cheaper. Buying anything from the dealer is expensive.
People buy what they like. I like the corvette but it isn't my taste |
