Exclamation Winter wheel/tire fitment help needed

Hey, so I just picked up a 2008 135i cab sport package.

I found someone selling wheels from a 2003 325xi sport. They are:

Size: 17" x 7", 5 Lug, 120mm Bolt Pattern, 47mm Offset

This style:

I have a set of tires from my old winter setup that are 225/45R17.

I was about to pick up these wheels and tires when I did a quick search on tire rack.

Tire rack recommends as an alternative to my 18", 205/50R17 OR 215/45R17 but does not give 225/45R17 as an alternative. The 225 is only about a half inch wider than the 215 and almost an inch wider than the 205.

Does anyone know if this setup will work? My winter tires are still practically new and I don't want to have to purchase all new wheels/tires. However, I don't want to buy these '03 bmw wheels, have the tires mounted, put them on, and find out that they rub when turning.

A quick answer would be a big help as Tomorrow is really my only day in the next two weeks to get this all done. Otherwise I'll just keep it garaged on cold and/or snowy days for awhile.

Thanks!

Joe

I'm sure it will fit fine in the rear. I guess with certain tire brands it could rub the strut up front but I seriously doubt that. If it did a 5mm spacer would fix it for sure. Go for it!

I run almost the same except the rim is 17x8 and there is no problem. The tire are 225x45x17.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick response. Looks like I'll be setup for winter tomorrow.
